Weekend Escapades nearby Chandigarh : Exploring Hills

One of the boons of living in Chandigarh is that there are number of splendid hill stations around to escape the ennui of your life. You can enjoy the picturesque view of hills and valleys away from all the city noise that too by avoiding the big hole in your pocket.

Here are some hill stations within 150 kilometer radius to where you can plan your weekend road trips. So if you are in Chandigarh and in dire need of hiatus from the monotony, then fill up the tanks of your car or bullets and just hit the road.


Situated at distance of 54 kms from Chandigarh, Kasauli is a beautiful town located in Himachal Pradesh. With its salubrious climate and scenic landscape, it makes a popular getaway choice. While on your way to Kasauli, also visit Timber Trail and Chakki Modh in Parwanoo. Chakki Modh is a place with river flowing bed perfect picnic spot to hangout with friends. Sitting on the rocks between the flowing waters and listening to the sound of flowing water is a rejuvenating experience.



The famous hill station is always refreshing every time you visit. About 130 kms from Chandigarh, it is always a lovely place to beat the summer heat. Morni hills

Lying 45 km north of Chandigarh are the beautiful Morni hills. Spiraling down the hills is a calm, peaceful view of the two lakes infringed by the hills, popularly known as Tikkar Taal. The lake side view is the perfect place to spend your afternoons basking in the sun. Those who want a little adventure can trek and camp by the Ghaggar river. It is a little hideout from all human contact if that’s what you are planning for the weekend.

The place lies 103 kms from the Chandigarh and is perfect to spend a secluded weekend. It has the highest cricket ground in India. With its tall pine and deodar tress, it is an exotic location for your weekend getaway.
