The first stop is Rock garden. Founded by Great Nek Chand, the place was created with all kinds of waste material and dump, and has turned out to be an attractive jewel of the city. Amazing art pieces made out of shards of glasses, bangles and ceramics put you in great awe and admiration.
The next stop is Sukhna Lake, adjacent to Rock Garden. The big lake is always spectacular with its picturesque view and flora- fauna. Migratory birds that fly here in winters simply add attraction to the lake. Behind the lake lies the breathtaking view of Shivalik hills. Also, situated near the lake is Chandigarh Golf Club and Silence of gardens.
After some peaceful sessions by the lake, it is time to experience the amazing crowd of the city. What better way to observe the youth is than being at renowned Panjab University? Student Center, known famously as Stu-C is where the happening student crowd gathers to chit-chat while they gorge on tasty food. Even Ranbir Kapoor couldn’t have left Chandigarh without being here.
If you are looking places for shopping, Sector-17 shopping complex and Elante Mall in industrial area are the places to be at with all the brand stores. Flea market in sector-22 is also famous for good cheap stuff.
Chandigarh people are known for high for life and pompous attitude. Gedi route is just the place to hang out for some fun and frolic. It is the street route spanning from sector-8, 9, 10, 11 where the guys and girls hangout in their big wheels. No other route than Chandigarh’s Gedi Route. Also, the posh streets have some amazing cafes one can visit to chill out for pleasant evening. The Willow café, Backpackers café are to name a few.
When it comes to nightlife, people here really know how to party hard. The place is booming with some amazing night clubs and bars. Whether it is clubbing, jam sessions, or lounge culture, Chandigarh people really have a fine taste.
