The beauty of India, which we our proud to call our motherland, is beyond comparison! It is impossible to describe the scenic views of this amazing country. If you don’t get the chance to see and enjoy these places then, worry not! Indian movies also showcase the same. Get ready to enjoy the beauty of this adorable country making you go “INCREDIBLE INDIA”
Well, being a Telugu person, I’d like to start off with a Telugu movie which shows the beauty of South India.
1. YE MAAYA CHESAAVE
This movie encases the romance between a Telugu to-be film director and a beautiful Malayali kutti. Most part of this love story was shot in Alleppey, Kerala. The heroine of this movie goes for a vacation to Alleppey, which is her native place, and the hero obviously follows her in a boat house with his friend. It’s amazing how the beauty of this little place is captured in 24 frames!
The places shown in this movie are the Back Waters with a boat house, the Alleppey beach and St.Mary’s Church. One of the songs has also been shot here. In case you do want to visit this place then it’ll be the best decision you’ve ever made!
2. JAB WE MET
Jab we Met is one my personal favorites. This movie shows the beauty of Manali. When Kareena Kapoor joyfuly sang “Yeh Ishq Hai, Jannat Dikhaye” amidst the snow-clad mountains, she was actually referring to this heaven of Himachal Pradesh. Remember the narrow roads covered with snow on the sides, the picturesque valleys and the beautiful cottages shown in Jab We Met? Well, these are all the charms of a beautiful hill station called Manali!
3. SEETHAMMA VAAKITLO SIRIMALLE CHETTU
Well, for those of you who do not speak Telugu, then this movie title is something I should explain. The very name screams nature! And the movie did not disappoint us. This movie showcases the beauty of the rural side of the state Andhra Pradesh. The luscious green fields and a very typical South Indian household is shown in this movie. Many people did get very much attracted to the beautiful green fields, the huge coconut trees on each side of the road and the Telugu culture. The major part of the movie was filmed in Relangi town of the West Godavari district. It is good to see that movies are encasing the Indian beauty in their films attracting more and more audience.
This movie is named after a real big river which flows from Maharashtra into Telangana and then finally into Andhra Pradesh. Most part of this movie is on a river cruise which starts from Rajamundry to Bhadrachalam. Bhadrachalam is the home for the temple of Lord Rama. This movie is very pleasant and causes real relaxation. I’ve personally watched this movie like a 100 times because it makes me feel happy! The beautiful river cruise, late night dinner on the banks of the river and the delicious coastal Andhra dishes makes people want to experience it personally. Traditional Hindu culture is also encased in this movie. It is good to watch such movies which are a real treat to the eyes!
Initially, the director planned to shoot along Bengal-Bihar-Odisha highway road belt but later opted to shoot along the road highways of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir. Scenes were shot in Kuchaman valley where the sand dunes provided the terrain transitions that were necessarily required. Scenes in Aru Valley and Chandanwari near Pahalgam were also canned. Its amazing how so many places have been covered in one film. The idea of showing highways of India is like the coolest idea ever making the film first of its kind to shoot such.
6. DELHI 6
It is said that the real beauty of India lies in its streets. This movie completely justifies the whole point. It shows the little street fairs, the roadside Jilebis, the Namaaz at mosques and also the subway trains. Its amazing how it completely encloses almost whole of this huge city in just one film. The song “Masakali” also manages to show this in just 5 minutes. The capital does not lag behind in being the location of interest for the Indian film-makers.
Varsham in Telugu means rain. I know, weird right?! But yeah, in this movie the hero and the heroine meet only when it rains! This movie was shot in Warangal. It shows the stunning Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal. The Nandi in front of the temple is also an interesting attraction. The song which was shot here is one of the most famous songs of the year 2004.
8. YEH JAWAANI HAI DIWAANI
This movie created a real sensation amongst today’s youth. Who wouldn’t want to capture the heavenly beauty of Kashmir in the lens? Words fall short even if you try to describe the magnanimous charm that this place mesmerizes the visitors with! Kashmir is the most beautiful location for adding romance to a film! All these things were very much available in the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwaani.
9. CHENNAI EXPRESS
Chennai Express is one of the blockbusters in 2013. This movie encases the beauty of Tamil Nadu and specially Rameshwaram. The beautiful beach at Rameshwaram and the temple which is a holy pilgrimage to the Hindus. The Dudhsagar Falls, Pamban Bridge and the Vattamalai Murugan Temple are also real pretty scenic beauties where this movie was shot. The strong bond between a wife and husband is also depicted in this movie.
10. JAB TAK HAI JAAN
Jab Jak Hai Jaan was shot in Leh/Ladakh. It was earlier considered to be an inaccessible region because of the extreme climatic conditions. But not anymore! Thanks to the film-makers, these locations have now become popular especially amongst the youngsters. Anushka Sharma dives into a river in Ladakh. That is a beautiful place in this movie. Jab Tak Hai Jaan encases the beauty of this lovely little place.
A heart touching movie with the best clima ever. Barfi was shot in two different places, Darjeeling and Kolkata. The cool climate, luscious green trees, forests and the trains on road. Various churches are also seen in this movie. Simultaneously, it also shows the vivid culture of Kolkata. The little Pani-Puri stalls, the trams, typical Bengali attire of a woman and the traditional Bengali wedding. Its amazing how two diverse cultures are shown in one movie.
Well folks, these are few movies, which according to me, showcase the beauty of India.
